DIRECTOR OF MUSIC
St. Stephen's Anglican
Church, Ottawa, a worshiping community who seek to know God and make
God known, require a Director of Music. The successful candidate
will be an accomplished musician who is comfortable in both traditional
and contemporary church music in an Anglican liturgical setting. We
have an adult choir of 15 members, junior choir of 8 members and a
small worship band. The church is equipped with an Allen
two-manual digital organ, a Kawai Digital Piano, and an advanced
sound/video system. The Director of Music will be responsible for
the music at the 10:00 AM Sunday Service, Christmas, Lent and Easter;
will be available for weddings and funerals; will facilitate the
children/youth music program, and would be encouraged to lead the
parish in musicals or other events. The Director of Music will work, on
average, 17 hours per week at the current RCCO scale based upon
experience and qualifications. Included in the 17 hours are
weekly staff meetings, Thursday evening choir practice (Sr. Choir),
Sunday morning worship, after-church Jr. Choir practice and preparation
time. The anticipated start date is August 15, 2015.
