Meet Our Team

The Reverend Canon George Kwari has been the Incumbent of St. Stephen’s since January 2017. Reverend Kwari has served for more than six years on the Diocesan Council. He is the Regional Dean of Ottawa West and the Co-ordinator of Summer Internship Programme.

A strong believer in equal rights, Reverend Kwari tends to the spiritual needs of his parishioners with care, compassion and concern.

He sees that the future of the Church will be in its ability to be flexible in managing the changes it will no doubt face.

Reverend Kwari and his wife Epiphania have two children, Simba in Grade 11 and Ropa in Grade 6.

I look forward to getting re-acquainted with all of you this fall. I notice several new faces, as people look for a new parish family, because their old churches have closed recently.

Robert Jones

Director of Music

Robert Jones joined our staff as our Music Director effective January 1, 2023.  Bob brings many years of experience to this position.  Prior to joining St. Stephen’s he was the Organist and Choir Director at St. Luke’s, Ottawa from 1999 until it closed at the end of 2022. 

Bob has been the Director of the Seaway Valley Singers since 2004, plays for the Saturday mass at St. Basil's Roman Catholic Church and is the past president of the Ottawa Centre of the Royal Canadian College of Organists.

Lori Hutchinson

Parish Administrator

Lori Hutchinson joined our staff as Office Administrator effective November 6, 2023. Lori brings diverse gifts and life experiences to our staff team. She is a proud mother, wife and grandmother. Lori worked for the banking and financial industry in the Credit Union system for about 30 years before retiring. She retired from there in November 2020 and took a few years off.

Lori enjoyed her retirement but missed working with people and wanted to find a fulfilling work environment, so she decided to come out of retirement.

Her working days are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m.

Lori looks forward to meeting everyone as time goes on.
